Phase 1: Leaders Learning

Over one thousand Oklahoma principals and superintendents meeting application and program requirements have participated in Phase I.  Assistants, Counselors, Federal Programmers, and Directors are not eligible for grant support, but may participate at the full-cost of the professional development and laptop.

Why should I join OK-ACTS?

Each participating principal and superintendent receives a laptop computer and learns strategies to enhance student learning through technology integration.  Specifically, OK-ACTS provides access to:

  • move your school towards research-based, best practices;
  • improve your technology skills and to organize your school data to make better instructional decisions;
  • a network of principals and superintendents collaborating and problem-solving the challenges of integrating technology and systemic change;
  • the OK-ACTS website featuring current literature, links, and upcoming opportunities to further your skills in technology integration, systemic change, and collaboration; and
  • a cluster coach - “ a practicing principal or superintendent who will facilitate your training and serve as a resource as you implement the practices targeted in the training experience."

Oklahoma’s Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation leadership development OK-ACTS project was ranked third nationally (NSDC, 2004).

What is the cost for OK-ACTS?
